Productivity power and customizing system keys

Telephony

  • At the end of each voice call PowerDay displays "Call duration" on the screen. The message is displayed in both Flip open and Flip closed modes. [Disabled for Motorola a920/a925/a1000 and BenQ P30]

  • Now you can answer or hang up any voice call immediately (incoming or outgoing) with one key press only (you can define any key you want for it). See "Customize keys" command. Related actions here:
    • End phone call - hangs up a current voice call immediately (if any).
    • Answer phone call - answers current incoming voice call immediately (if any).
    • Answer/End phone call - when you press a pre-defined key while phone is ringing you accept a call, in all other situations (dialing, speaking) when you press this key the call will be ended.
    • New/Answer/End call - Triple action on a key. When you press a pre-defined key while phone is ringing you accept a call, when you are dialing or speaking the call will be ended. If there is no active call then by pressing this key you'll switch to the telephone application to be able to make a call as fast as possible.
  • All these actions work in both Flip open and Flip closed modes.

Complete keys customization

With PowerDay you can customize all device keys (if you want to). PowerDay automatically determines your device and determines what keys are available. Moreover, with each key you can have multiple actions. One for standard key press, second when the key is held (for 1 sec) and third when you are in Flip Closed mode (if your device supports it). With each key you can have the following actions:

  • Don't handle - [default] if selected then PowerDay won't intercept this key, and when you press this key a default system action will be performed.
  • Handle but do nothing - PowerDay intercepts the key, but no action is performed when you press this key.
  • Reject/End call - see [Telephony].
  • Answer phone call - see [Telephony].
  • Answer/End call - see [Telephony].
  • New/Answer/End call - see [Telephony].
  • Start the application - starts specified application.
  • Show Uni menu - pops up universal menu containing: New, Run, Favourites, Tasks and Connection submenus.
  • Show Close Menu - pops up menu containing: Close current, Close all and compact memory commands.
  • Show Tasks menu - shows task list. Allows you to switch to another active application in the fastest way, to close current task, all tasks, and to compact memory.
  • Show Favourites menu - here you can define and use your favourite items. They can be shortcuts to app, speed dials, etc. It's recommended to place here the most used actions you perform with your phone to be able to perform them with one key press.
  • Show Apps menu - displays complete list of all installed applications. Starts anything you want.
  • Back to prev app - switches to the previous application (you worked with).
  • Pop up PowerDay - pops up PowerDay from the background.
  • Close current app - closes active application without any confirmation.
  • Close all apps - Closes all active applications without any confirmation (excluding system ones).
  • Compact Memory - compacts memory without any confirmation.
  • New call.
  • New SMS.
  • New MMS.
  • New Email.
  • New Voice note.
  • Infrared - opens connection settings.
  • Bluetooth - opens connection settings.
  • Cable - opens connection settings.
  • Emulate Menu key - makes this key act as Menu key.
  • Emulate Esc key - makes this key act as ESC key.
  • Lock/Unlock keys - if you want to use 'Lock screen PowerDay feature' you have to define a locking key. When you press this key, all input will be locked till you press the same key twice. Note: it's possible to set up this action on 'Held' press as well, in this case to lock input you need to perform held press on this key, but to unlock it's enough to press this key twice fast (without holding).
  • Show connections menu - shows connections menu. Allows to manage Bluetooth, Infrared and cable connections.
  • Today view/Today - double action on a key. First it pops up PowerDay (if needed) and opens the page with today view automatically. If this page is already opened then by pressing this key current date-time will be selected as today (used in summary, day, week and month views).
  • Today view/Cycle view - double action on a key. First it pops up PowerDay (if needed) and opens the page with today view automatically. If this page is already opened then by pressing this key today view will be cycled (e.g. from Day view to week view, to month view, to tasks view, etc).

Note1: all productivity operations are optimized for fast one-hand use (without stylus). But of course if you prefer to use a stylus it won't be a problem as well.

Note2: all productivity operations work not only when PowerDay is in foreground. E.g. you can pop up task list any time, when speaking, looking your photos, browsing internet or playing a game, etc.

Note: PowerDay's keys customization is not compatible with other 3rd party key mappers. If some other application will intercept a key after PowerDay then PowerDay's action assigned to this key won't be performed while the application is running or holding the key. If you want to set up some other application to handle some key all the time then simply set 'Don't handle' for this key in PowerDay and PowerDay won't touch and intercept this key at all.

Note: (for SE P900/P910 owners) If you use built-in system lock function then you have to leave one of Jog dial press down or Jog dial press up in PowerDay to 'Don't handle'. Otherwise to unlock the phone you'll have to close flip or restart your device.

Screen lock feature

Screen lock feature can be highly used when flip removed (on SE P800 phones). When locked (by specified timeout of inactivity or with defined key press) special icon will be displayed on PowerDay's screen. All keys and pointer events are blocked until it's unlocked. You can unlock it by double pressing the defined key. (Press defined key twice faster than 1 sec). When you close the flip it becomes unlocked automatically. Device lock works with PDA part only (flip open or removed state). When flip is closed then the phone part works and it has its own lock and auto lock features.

Note: PowerDay's Screen lock feature is not designed to use with built-in system lock (on P900/P910 phones)! You have to use only one screen lock function at one time.

PowerDay global settings

You can customize some PowerDay's behaviour selecting 'Settings' command on the PowerDay menu.

  • View tab - here you can change background image, change colours and opacity level
  • Autostart PowerDay - If enabled then PowerDay application will be started automatically when system loads (disabled for Motorola a920/a925/a1000 and BenQ P30).
  • Auto lock - Specify inactivity timeout for auto PowerDay keys lock. See PowerDay keys lock feature for more details.
  • Flip open event - here you can set up whether PowerDay should pop up automatically when you open flip or not.
  • Flip open/close sound and volume - PowerDay can play sounds when you open and close flip. You can customize sounds here.
  • Close-all exceptions list - here you can define the list of applications that won't be closed by all 'Close all' commands performed by PowerDay.
  • Close all applications on flip close - If enabled then PowerDay will close all applications automatically when you close flip (except system applications and applications defined in 'Close-all exceptions list').

The downloaded software works for 15 days as full version, afterwards we ask you to register it.
